In May 2024, the IEC 61340-5-1 standard, which deals with the protection of electronic devices from electrostatic phenomena, was changed.
The new version contains several important changes that may affect the ESD protection processes that have been developed in a company:
- New definitions have been added to the document
- Product qualification requirements have been updated
- 5.3.3. subsection now refers to groundable ESD clothing systems
- Table 2 relating to personnel grounding has been replaced
- The concepts of „insulator” and „insulated conductor” have been clarified
- Table 3 has been updated and new technical elements and requirements have been added, including a reference to IEC 61340-5-4 for compliance testing
- A new table (Table 4) has been added as a summary of the requirements of IEC 61340-5-3, which includes the requirements for checking the conformity of packaging
- Annex „A” has been replaced. The new Annex „A” already talks about the customization of the standard and helps the user with practical examples.

We conduct our trainings with practical approach in order to
enable the participating employees to utilize the knowledge they have acquired as much as possible in „live” production environment.
CONTENT
Our trainings consist of several curriculum units and have a modular structure. We adapt to the needs and technology of the customer and the expectations of the current ESD standards. After completing our basic training, we issue a certificate of participation, and after the advanced and auditor training, we issue a certificate.
